Getting A and S ranks are pretty much trial and error, you need to memorize the map and as stated above, use scouts almost exclusively aside from a handful of missions. There are huge fans of this game that will vehemently defend that there's not a lot of trial and error within the game, but even without going for A or S ranks there's a fair bit of trial and error to be had which drags the game down a bit.

I would be fine if I could just get past it. Mostly because the RNG that I've had on the map is killing me. Lancer not hitting a tank for the kill after 3 shots, Eldwiss missing as well. It's not the over all strategy that bothers me, it's the RNG. This is a rather simple one compared to lets say Men of War or Wargame. It's annoying to see a lancer never hitting anything, and then the enemy Lancer hits in one. This has happened more than once in one mission and continued on.

I truly want to like this game, but this RNG is killing me at this mission. Targeting isn't that unpredictable, the reticle indicates pretty clearly how widely your shots may vary. If you are missing a lot, you probably aren't getting close enough to the target. Advance with cover and try again.

Only try for radiator shots when you have a decent chance of making them, otherwise it's best to just put the biggest bulk of tank in your crosshairs as you can. Try also: the ragnite barrels near the tanks, or skipping tanks altogether with a stealth approach.
